Awarding Military Support


The Conception Bay South Fire Department was presented with the national award as the Most Supportive Employer in Newfoundland and Labrador. Corporal John Heffernan,  a CBS firefighter,  was granted time off work on two occassions last year to complete military courses. The National awards will be presented at a ceremony in Ottawa in June.

A recent ceremony at Government House saw the presentation of provincial awards to the Eastern School District,  the CBS Fire Department and 8 other employers: Aliant, the Bank of Montreal,  Dooly's, the department of parking services with the City of St. John's, the Department of Canadian Heritage in this province, HMP, The Marine Institute, and NewTech Instruments.
